Fortinet Brand Ambassadors
At the inaugural Fortinet Championship event last September, Fortinet brought together the world’s best players and technology leaders, an event that culminated in Max Homa winning the Fortinet Championship trophy on Sunday. Later that year, Max, the inaugural champion, was named a Fortinet Global Brand Ambassador. David Lipsky was added as a Fortinet Brand Ambassador in 2022.

After claiming his first TOUR win at the 2021 Genesis Invitational, Max followed up this season by winning the 2021 Fortinet Championship and 2022 Wells Fargo Championship. We expect that Max will return to Napa this year to defend his title.

Killexams : Fortinet Patches High-Severity Vulnerabilities in Several Products

Fortinet published security advisories this week to inform customers about vulnerabilities affecting several of the company’s products.

The cybersecurity firm’s latest batch of monthly advisories describe roughly a dozen vulnerabilities identified in FortiADC, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, FortiOS, FortiProxy, FortiClient, FortiDeceptor, FortiEDR, FortiNAC, FortiSwitch, FortiRecorder, and FortiVoiceEnterprise products.

Four CVEs have been assigned a “high” severity rating. This includes CVE-2022-26117, which affects FortiNAC and allows an attacker to access MySQL databases due to an unprotected root account.

Another high-severity flaw is a stack-based buffer overflow that allows arbitrary code or command execution. This issue, tracked as CVE-2021-43072, affects FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, FortiOS and FortiProxy.

A “high severity” rating has also been assigned to CVE-2022-30302, a CVE assigned to multiple path traversal bugs in the FortiDeceptor admin interface that can be exploited by a remote attacker to retrieve and delete arbitrary files from the underlying file system.

A directory traversal issue affecting FortiClient for Windows, CVE-2021-41031, is also “high severity”. It allows a local attacker to escalate privileges.

Roughly half of the vulnerabilities were reported to Fortinet by external researchers — the rest were discovered internally. Only a couple of the flaws — rated “medium” and “low” — can be exploited without authentication.

Patches are available for all of these vulnerabilities. While none of the flaws sounds particularly dangerous, it’s not uncommon for threat actors to target Fortinet products in their attacks so users should update their systems as soon as possible.

Killexams : Fortinet, Checkpoint added to Wedbush Best Ideas List as firm says no signs of growth slowdown
Fortinet Headquarters

hapabapa

Fortinet (NASDAQ:FTNT) and Checkpoint Software Technologies (NASDAQ:CHKP) were added to Wedbush's best ideas list on Tuesday after the investment firm said it had not seen any signs of a major growth slowdown for the space.

"While a slowing macro and potential recession are being closely watched, priorities are clear for [Chief Information Officer] and [Chief information security officers] in this environment as protecting enterprises against rising sophisticated threats is a major issue for Boards and C- Level with more data migrating to the cloud and vulnerabilities across the board (endpoints, mobile, access levels)," analyst Dan Ives wrote in a note to clients.

Going further, Ives said that adding Fortinet (FTNT) and Checkpoint Software Technologies (CHKP) to the list shows the firm's "high conviction" in the stocks, adding they are two of the firm's favorite cyber security stocks.

Ives reiterated the outperform rating and $145 price target on Checkpoint Software Technologies (CHKP) and reiterated the outperform rating and raised the price target to $76 from $68 on Fortinet (FTNT).

In addition, Ives noted that even with the markets being skittish because of rising inflation, interest rates and concerns of a global recession, cyber security is still seeing strong growth and is viewed as a "safety blanket tech sector."

"While investors will fret about valuations on hyper-growth names in the near-term, our checks have been firm around cloud cyber security, firewall refreshes, [privileged access management], endpoint, and vulnerability/threat management," Ives explained, adding that rising threats are good for increased cyber security budgets.

The firm's other favorite cyber security names include Palo Alto Networks (PANW), CyberArk (CYBR), Tenable (TENB) and Zscaler (ZS).

Last week, Morgan Stanley said cyber security companies were seen as "durable" going into earnings season, but noted that Check Point (CHKP) may have "difficult competitive dynamics," given that more than 40% of the company's revenue comes from Europe.
