Oracle seeks to help law enforcement and first responders handle emergency situations through its new technology platform, Oracle Public Safety Services.

The platform is developed to provide emergency response workers with real-time information and situational awareness to help their decision-making process, the information technology company said Sunday.

Oracle Public Safety Services is also designed to do away with data silos and remove manual busy work.

Oracle has utilized its cloud infrastructure and worked with local government authorities, emergency medical service experts and law enforcement technology professionals for the development of its public safety platform.

The Oracle Public Safety Services suite includes a computer-aided dispatch command center for emergency call management and dispatch, wearable computer communications and camera system for officers, real-time video communication tools, a touch-talk-listen tablet application for vehicle communication and coordination, as well a cloud-based law enforcement records and jail management systems.

“We designed our systems to make the on-scene experience less isolating and emotionally charged by enabling responders to act as a blended team with someone monitoring the situation remotely,” said Steve Seoane, senior vice president and general manager for Oracle’s local government operations.

Killexams : Oracle’s Stock Looks Cheap Again. ‘We’ve Got a Plan,’ CEO Says.

Safra Catz is feeling feisty, and for good reason. Over the past few years, the Oracle CEO has engineered an impressive turnaround at the enterprise software giant, which has bet the future of the company on cloud computing.

As we outlined in a Barron’s cover story in February 2021, Oracle (ticker: ORCL) is using the cloud to drive new growth in the company’s application and database software businesses, while also moving to take on the three giants in the public cloud— (AMZN) Amazon Web Services, or AWS, Microsoft (MSFT) Azure, and Alphabet (GOOGL) Google Cloud. Oracle is getting traction on all fronts, and it’s driving growth rates the company hasn’t seen in more than a decade.

Killexams : Oracle School Board Candidates Outline Priorities at Democratic Club Meeting

Speaking at the SaddleBrooke Democratic Club’s meeting on Tuesday, September 13, Oracle School Board candidates Wendy Odell and Donna Pedota said their priorities, if elected, would be to emphasize student achievement and learning while maintaining fiscal responsibility and accountability.

“My goal is to ensure we provide our students the best education possible while also being fiscally responsible,” said Pedota, a former resident of New Jersey and Minnesota who has been a resident of SaddleBrooke Ranch for six-years. “This means ensuring the school district operates wisely within the budget, that our students have every opportunity to succeed by providing the most educational ‘bang for the buck,’ and that taxpayer dollars are well spent.”

Odell, a SaddleBrooke resident with 28-years of experience as a teacher and administrator in Minnesota public schools, echoed those sentiments. “I will ensure policies are aligned with best teaching practices, and we support teachers with the tools and resources to engage students in and out of the classroom,” she said. Odell, who also was principal of an elementary school in Oro Valley after she moved to Arizona in 2015, said that throughout her career in education, she has been a good steward of taxpayer money.

Both Odell and Pedota attended public schools K-12, with Odell later receiving bachelor’s and master’s degrees in elementary education. Pedota, a current member of the Oracle Schools Foundation, holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business and organizational management and currently works as a strategy director for a Fortune 100 healthcare company.

Odell and Pedota will be on the November 8 ballot for election to two four-year seats on the Oracle School Board.

The SaddleBrooke Democratic Club’s meeting on Tuesday, September 13, also featured various Democratic state candidates, who told club members their goals and objectives, if they are elected, in November. In calling the meeting to order, club president Maureen Borland stressed how important it is for all to VOTE.

Candidates in Attendance Were

Martin Quezada, a member of the Arizona State Senate since 2015, is running for Arizona State Treasurer. Previously a member of the State House of Representatives for two-years and a lawyer in private practice, Martin highlighted his commitment to education, especially prioritizing financial literacy efforts to ensure all students succeed. He also believes in healthcare for all, affordable housing initiatives, and protecting our planet. He promises to bring ethics, professionalism and transparency to the Treasurer’s office. “I will be a State Treasurer who ensures our Arizona values are represented when managing, investing and protecting our taxpayer dollars,” he said.

Lauren Kuby, running for the Arizona Corporation Commission, is a two-term council member and former vice mayor of Tempe. She is a sustainability scientist at Arizona State University and a recognized climate action and clean energy advocate. Lauren is running as a team with Sandra Kennedy, who has served on the Arizona Corporation Commission since 2008 and was re-elected in 2018. Lauren believes a fair, transparent, impartial Corporation Commission keeps your utility bills in check, protects our waters and lands, and ensures that every Arizonian has affordable access to sustainable water and energy. “ We need an equitable process at the Commission so that we do not leave populations behind,” she said.

Mike Nickerson, a retired pastor and educator, is running for the State Senate in Legislative District 17. He believes education is the key for a prosperous future for Arizona. “The present Senate wastes time and money on partisan issues instead of addressing our state’s challenges,” he said. Mike, who is the past president of the SaddleBrooke Democratic Club, believes the priorities of the Senate should focus on funding for excellent public schools, providing access to quality health care, and developing a sound water plan for our future.

Dana Allmond, a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel and a 1994 West Point graduate, is running for the State House of Representatives in LD 17. She stands for voting rights, full funding for public education, and reproductive freedom for all. Dana is a lifelong public servant who puts family and Arizonans first. She said she is running to “Save Our Democracy!” “As Arizonans, we must return to our shared public values and reject the dictates of a radical minority.” she said.

Brian Radford rounds out the slate of Democratic candidates for LD 17. He is running for the second seat in the State House of Representatives in our district. A s a retired corrections officer, case manager and special education teacher, he is committed to full funding for public education. He also supports measures to lower prescription drug prices, Boost access to healthcare, and address the challenge of water management. “We are facing significant challenges in the years ahead, which is why I am committed to protecting voting rights, access to the ballot as well as fully funded public education and special education programs,” he said.

Non-partisan candidates for seats on the Oracle School Board also were in attendance. SaddleBrooke resident Wendy Odell and SaddleBrooke Ranch resident Donna Pedota are running to Boost the Oracle School District by adhering to fiscal responsibility and enhanced student achievement. Oracle (ORCL) was recently fined $23 million by the SEC for violating the provisions of the FCPA. However, analysts are bullish on its growth prospects. So, should you invest in the stock now? Read on to learn our view…. - StockNews

The Securities and Exchange Commission announced settled charges on September 27, 2022, requiring Oracle Corporation (ORCL) to pay more than $23 million to resolve charges for violating the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) provisions.

ORCL provides products and services that address enterprise information technology (IT) environments. The company’s businesses include cloud and license, hardware, and services. Its products and services include applications and infrastructure offerings delivered through various IT deployment models.

ORCL has been fined for violating the provisions of the FCPA as its subsidiaries in Turkey, the UAE, and India created and used slush funds to bribe foreign officials for getting business between 2016 and 2019.

According to the SEC’s order, ORCL’s subsidiaries in Turkey and UAE also used the slush funds to pay for foreign officials to attend technology conferences, completely violating the company’s policies and procedures.

Also, during certain instances, ORCL’s Turkey subsidiary employees used the slush funds for the officials’ families to accompany them on international conferences or take side trips to California.

ORCL’s Corporate Communications VP, Michael Egbert, said, “The conduct outlined by the SEC is contrary to our core values and clear policies, and if we identify such behavior, we will take appropriate action.”

The stock has declined 23.6% in price year-to-date and 27.2% over the past year to close the last trading session at $66.64. It is currently trading 37.3% below its 52-week high of $106.34, which it hit on December 10, 2021.

On the other hand, ORCL completed the acquisition of a health IT company named Cerner in June. The company is growing its applications and infrastructure cloud businesses.

ORCL’s two cloud businesses currently account for more than 30% of its total revenue. The company expects its cloud businesses to account for an even larger share of its overall revenue. As Cerner is integrated into ORCL, it is expected to positively impact its revenue and earnings in the upcoming quarters and result in cost efficiencies.

The company expects its constant currency organic revenue growth to hit double digits along with a similar increase in its EPS. ORCL Chairman and CTO Larry Ellison said, “We expect Cerner to do even better in the coming quarters as we develop an all-new suite of healthcare cloud services.”

“Multi-Cloud access to the Oracle Database and Oracle’s MySQL HeatWave database will make the world’s two most popular databases even more popular,” he added.

Here’s what could influence ORCL’s performance in the upcoming months:

Steady Topline Growth

ORCL’s total revenues increased 17.6% year-over-year to $11.44 billion for the first quarter that ended August 31, 2022.
